Get shipping rates programmatically.

The Rates API allows you to query multiple carriers simultaneously based on package dimensions, weight, and destination. Use it to present live shipping options at checkout or select the cheapest service internally.

POST/v1/rates

Requesting Rates

To retrieve rates, you need to provide the origin, destination, and the packages being shipped. RC:Ship will query your connected carriers and return an array of available services.

Request Payload
{
  "origin": {
    "zip": "110001",
    "country": "IN"
  },
  "destination": {
    "zip": "400001",
    "country": "IN"
  },
  "packages": [
    {
      "weight": 1.2,
      "dimensions": {
        "length": 10,
        "width": 8,
        "height": 4,
        "unit": "cm"
      }
    }
  ]
}

The Rate Response

The API returns a sorted array of rates. Each rate object includes the carrier, the specific service level, the estimated delivery timeframe, and the exact price based on your negotiated account credentials.

Response Payload
{
  "rates": [
    {
      "id": "rate_1x2y3z",
      "carrier": "delhivery",
      "service": "Delhivery Express",
      "price": 145.00,
      "currency": "INR",
      "estimatedDays": 2
    },
    {
      "id": "rate_4a5b6c",
      "carrier": "blue_dart",
      "service": "Blue Dart Priority",
      "price": 180.00,
      "currency": "INR",
      "estimatedDays": 1

      "price": 120.00,
      "currency": "INR",
      "estimatedDays": 3
    }
  ]
}

You can use the id field from the selected rate to easily create a shipment with those exact parameters using the Shipments API.

Build with the Shipping Infrastructure API

A robust, RESTful API designed by developers, for developers.

Integrating shipping carriers is notoriously difficult due to archaic SOAP APIs, inconsistent documentation, and varied label formats. RC:Ship abstracts away this complexity, providing a unified developer experience.

Unified Carrier Abstraction

Instead of building and maintaining 10 different carrier integrations, you build one integration to the RC:Ship API. We handle the carrier-specific quirks, API updates, and edge cases, allowing your engineering team to focus on core product features.

Our API normalizes the entire shipping lifecycle—from live rate fetching to label generation and real-time tracking webhooks.

This means that adding a new carrier to your stack is a configuration change in our dashboard, not a three-week sprint for your engineering team.

Reliable Webhooks & Event Streams

Stop polling for tracking updates. Our infrastructure handles millions of carrier pings and distills them into clean, standardized webhook events sent directly to your endpoints. Whether a package is out for delivery or returning to origin, you receive instant, structured JSON payloads.
